I kind of liked this clip of a tarot reading on The Young and the Restless. I don’t know who these people are, but they’ve got … secrets.
It looks like they’re using the Enchanted Tarot by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber.

I’m posting NaNoWriMo planning tips this month on the Tarot for Writers Meetup site. Here’s the first tip:
Every story needs a hero, and you can find your protagonist in a deck of tarot cards. Simply shuffle your deck and pull a card at random.
While it’s unlikely, the card you pull might not feature a man or a woman. Be open to unexpected or unconventional heroes: you might be called upon to write about a child, for example, or an animal. You might also be drawn to a symbol in the card. That’s okay: you can personify it.
Spend some time thinking about the protagonist you find in the cards. Make a few notes. Develop a character sketch, and see how much you can discover about your hero simply by studying his or her image.
